13/06/2011 Session

We decided we’d better try to get into bureaucrat's mansion as that’s where we would get the funds for the Captain’s Table.  Boomeron snuck up to the door all sneaky like but then for some reason rang the doorbell.  A loud chime sounded and an AI said the residence was currently unavailable and to please leave a message.  Loads of blood cultists turned up, screaming some kind of blood chant.  Gav fired a grenade at them and landed it right in front of the boss, but he must have been another cyborgised bigwig because he just seemed to keep going.

Eventually, Quold got us into the house by putting on his fancy uniform and coming up with some bureaucratic excuse as to why we were there.  STD-01 persuaded the bureaucrat he'd deprogrammed to come inside what turned out to be his own mansion, rather than lie in the road waiting for the Sanctus Sanguine cyborgs.  He lay down on the couch in the corner, leaving dealing with us to his robot bartender.  The robot bartender gave us some awesome drinks, probably the best I've ever tasted!  I figured I'd better take it easy on the fancy booze given our situation, but that didn't stop Boomeron getting utterly shitfaced, which he does generally tend to do at any given opportunity.  Quold also got a bit tipsy, but I think that's more because he's not used to drinking alcohol, unlike the rest of us.  The robot barman was rather evasive when asked about the state of the main house AI, or alternate routes into the building, though we did find out that there was still a functional, non-infected AI node in the house somewhere.  After a few too many of the fancy drinks Boomeron hurled on a kobold in the corner.

Without any help from the barman, the only certain route into the house to get to the vault was through the arboretum.  Quold saw a documentary about the house once and was pretty sure of the way.  Unfortunately the arboretum also housed the bureaucrat's monkey servitor guards, large primates from some jungle planet that had been genetically modified for savagery and then given cybernetic implants to make them stronger, faster and more deadly than they already were.  I'd quite have liked to see a real monkey, even if it was all messed up by cybernetics and genetic manipulation, but everyone else said it was too dangerous and we'd have to find another way.

There were two exits from the bar; the left lead to the bureaucrat's lounges and the right to the ballroom.  We chose to go through the lounges.  The door was locked so we decided to cut through with Gav's cutting torch.  Quold seemed to know best what he was doing and quoted some regulations about cutting so he used the torch.  He made us wait 1 minute for the edges to cool, and put a safety test sticker on the torch saying it had passed its 12-monthly safety inspection.  We went through and it led to a corridor with two doors off it and a corner leading to further a further corridor.

I checked the other corridor section with one of our trusty mirror sticks while the other covered, and it was empty with a few more doors.  The door at the end was a really ornately decorated heavy bulkhead with some really nobby artwork.  Quold had a look and managed to spot some High Praetorian script engraved into it and was fortunately able to read it (even though his level of bureaucracy only uses high-plebbish or standard-plebbish, still a step above the low-plebbish dialect we speak in most of brown sector) and that it was related to security.  He then had a closer look at that and the other doors and saw that they led to lounges, a clerk's office and another one to the maintenance area which was next to the security door.

Quold had a go at cutting through the maintenance door as I figured we could find a map in there.  He cut about 1.5 feet and then a klaxon sounded and the security door started to open.  I knew we should have gone to the arboretum to see the cyborg monkeys.  Monkeys are cool.

We prepared to fire through the door, assuming there'd be a big hovering shielded security bot coming through.  I got out my high-penetration laser as it's better for armour than the plasma rifle, as did Gav.  Gav shot before me and his laser round seemed to be reflected.  Boomeron popped a round from his grenade launcher in there which seemed to stagger the bot, at least from what I could see through the slowly opening door.  Quold fired a 6 round burst from his Gauss pistol, aiming a bit low at first but then hitting the control panel.  Unfortunately the door started opening a lot faster, but then ground to a halt and started opening slowly again.  I decided not to fire my laser at it so I threw a high-ex grenade right under the robot.  The blast kind of hurt a bit, but it definitely hit the bot more than us.  It wobbled a bit and some sparks came out, but it was still upright and functioning.  It was roughly humanoid in shape with weapon podules and a bunch of sensors on metal tentacle arms.  It was hovering on a high-power grav-sled.  There were a hella lot of weapon podules on that sucker!

It shot at us and managed to hit Gav and Boomeron but fortunately didn't do too much damage.  We shot back, Quold first with his Gauss pistol.  Most of the rounds bounced off, but the last one seemed to go through.  Boomeron fired a full burst from his assault rifle at it which just ricocheted off the shield.  I got another grenade right underneath it which seemed to fuck it up a bit.  Gav had stepped back to brace the Anti Material Rifle as this thing was starting to seem like a serious threat.  We only have 4 rounds left for it, but using one now was better than being vaporised by some bureaucrat banker's pet security robot!  The round made a massive hole in its chest and a massive shower of sparks and the robot's eyes dimmed and it wobbled for a bit, but it recovered again pretty quick.

Gav took another shot, this time at the grav-sled.  Guess he figured dropping out of the air would probably hurt it.  Unfortunately it dodged, so he only took another chunk out of its casing.  Boomeron had another go with his advanced assault rifle and some of the rounds got through, but didn't do much damage.  I figured I'd been doing a bit well with these grenades up till now and I guess it screwed my confidence.  I managed to hit the bot, but I got it a bit too close to us.  Think I took most of the blast, but it did seem to stagger everyone else a bit too.  Quold shot the bot again with his gauss pistol and it started listing to one side pretty heavily.  A few weapons pods fell off and discharged in random directions, though fortunately none of them were pointing at us.

It shot at us again with its remaining podules.  Gav dodged, but it winged Boomeron and Quold and then hit me full on with a gauss gun.  That fucking hurt!  Unsurprising as my internal organs got peppered with gauss pellets.  Gav hit it again with the anti material rifle, which I just about noticed before I had to have a bit of a lie down, so at least I didn't throw that last grenade.

When I eventually managed to get up again I had a look in the security office where everyone else was.  There were 3 guys in there, each with some fancy security uniforms and a Gauss pistol, and each riddled with Gauss gun shot just like me.  Boomeron searched them and found some weird implants in their wrists that we figured must be security chips, so I cut off their hands and STD-01 said he could probably make the implants work.  Quold and Boomeron each took a gauss pistol and some charge packs.  Quold put a holster on each hip.  He said something about General Blarg'n Flarg'n having worn two gauss pistols during the Asia Systems Campaign but then suddenly shut up.  I just about remember hearing about the Asia Systems Campaign being where Blarg'n Flarg'n was defeated and shortly after committed ritual suicide.

Quold finished cutting our way into the maintenance section and we sat down to have a rest and eat some food.  Gav found some clips and put the cut-out section of door back in place.  He seemed to think it was as good as before we cut it, but I'm not so sure about that.  He also found a floor plan for two levels of the mansion, one being the one we were on and the other seemed to be the floor below.

06/06/2011 Session

We convinced the uncorrupted AI node to kit us out with some new armour and let us run some training programs. B and S learned about heavy weapons and worked on their energy weapons knowledge and I did an advanced armour course. It said I should use this Hazardous Environment Suit it had as I had the most experience using sewer armour, and that was the closest anyone had got to actual experience. Apparently it can allow you to survive in atmospheres that would dissolve, crush or boil you without it. I tried to get it to give me a jetpack to go with it, but it gave me a 6-pack of some energy drink called Jet instead.

Everyone else got some fresh flak or SWAT armour and we found a few vac-suits, some med-packs, fresh swat armour, under-barrell grenade launchers, cutting and welding tools, fresh power-packs and ammo. I'm glad we've got some more power for the plasma rifles now. I stopped using them to save ammo but the high penetration laser just isn't the same! Boomeron found a pair of fancy gun-scopes and stuck one on his advanced assault rifle. Gav took the other one for his 'collection'.

The computer told us we had to get enough cash to get in to the Captain's Table so we could carry on up the tower and investigate the highest AI node we could find at the top of the tower, where the captain lives. We asked it about the other houses on this floor and if they had computer nodes in too. It didn't seem to care much, but eventually told us they started acting irrationally so it severed contact. It had tried to find out what was going on on the level above, but didn't say how or what happened. It said that its occupants had been at a function in the military sector, so had probably been turned into biological weapons for the enemy, just like most of the rest of the population. The only way up to the next level would be to climb the lift shaft, but it gave us some climbing gear that should help us get up there. It also gave us some kind of nano-lockpick device with 5 charges.

Gav made up some story about finding some credits that some of the Sanctus Sanguine had been trying to steal to cover up the fact that it was us and asked if the Captain's Table would take the credits covered in dye. It said they had been security tagged so would be useless and we might as well throw them away. The only way in aside from credits is to blow our way in, and it said we didn't have the firepower for it and that the Captain's Table's defences were formidable. It wouldn't tell us exactly what the defences were though, damn military jerks.

STD-01 started talking some kind of scientific stuff about nanotech and zombification. It took me a while to figure out he was talking about me! Calling me a test subject again just reminded me of that time I nearly turned into a zombie and he wanted to kill me. I told him to call me by my damn name and gave him a shove. Stupid half-robot bastard, thinks he's better than the rest of us. He wanted the computer to help him make some more of the nanobots they used to cure me, and make me smell weird, but it couldn't help.

We went to the lift shaft that seemed to be on and STD-01 managed to get us in with the nano-lockpick. We got in the lift and made it up two floors, figuring the other high ranked officials' houses. I wanted to go to the head of Brown Sector's place, see how the boss-man lives, but nobody else was up for it. Weird since most of them are from Brown Sector. Chaz did say it was next to the place the security droid was quarantining infected, which I guess could've been interesting. When we got to the next floor it was all dark, and we were in the central of the spire. We had a look for a lightswitch, when we suddenly realised we were looking at blood writing! Most of us managed to look away in time, but Gav started acting a bit funny. Chaz and I body checked him, but we hadn't noticed that STD-01 was acting a bit funny too. We sat on Gav to hold him down and Chaz got a face-pack on him to stop him reading the writing, though she had to get off him to get it on. Boomeron noticed STD-01 and tried to knock him out with his microphone boom. It didn't work, but it seemed to distract him from the blood writing. Gav tried to get up one more time but Chaz and I held him down pretty easily. Then he stopped struggling and seemed to come back to his senses.

We had to stop looking for a light switch so STD-01 got the hand scanner out. We seemed to be in the middle of some kind of fancy palatial level for the Captain's immediate subordinates. There were 4 mansions each with their own fenced off grounds. There was an entrance to the head of finance's mansion ahead and to our right. I couldn't see much 'cause I was trying not to read the blood writing, but suddenly Boomeron shouted something about fast moving targets. I couldn't figure out what he meant, but then STD-01 said one high energy weapon, one neutralised and both cyborgs. I just spotted them before they got to us and they were two guys in really fancy dress uniforms that looked utterly impractical. One of them was rolling around on the floor, but the other one charged straight for me. He was right next to me in a second! I just managed to roll out of the way and track him with my weapon, but he smashed through the steel wall next to me and then cut through the floor with some beam he shot out of his fingers. Gav fired some assault rifle rounds at his head but he twisted out of the way. I hit him in the face with my plasma gun but it didn't do anywhere near as much damage as I'd hoped, just seemed to burn off a load of his fancy clothes. Boomeron managed to hit it with his assault rifle but again it didn't do much damage. Chaz was much more bold and grabber the guy's nuts with her hair straighteners! It was pretty easy since the guy was wearing some kind of ceremonial skirt. He tried to turn around to hit Chaz so I grabbed my scraper to head in there to help her out. Fortunately she dodged and he cut through the floor next to her.

STD-01 said the other one was neutralised and the guy rolling around on the floor stopped struggling. I tried to take the guy's head off and if he'd been a zombie or blood cultist it would've come clean off! Instead, he tried to dodge out of the way and I knocked him back against the wall. Gav shot him in the face shortly after that and his head burst everywhere. Chaz didn't want to let go of her tongs so she ripped half his junk off, though it took her about 10 seconds tugging. Gav did not look impressed as she dropped the charred remains to the floor. Quold was horrified, as apparently this guy was some incredibly high-ranking bureaucrat. The other cyborg bureaucrat was lying there swearing vigorously so we went over to check on him. He wouldn't respond to any questions, and when we tried to help him he kept telling us to fuck off and leave him alone. Chaz said she would bandage his eyes to stop him getting reinfected but he told her to fuck off and raised up his glowing laser hand. Everyone else wanted to sedate him, but I was more concerned with nicking his mates laser beam hand and power blast hand. Be great if I could get them on this EVA suit somehow!

Chaz tried to sedate the bureaucrat but he he twisted round really fast and stuck the needle into her instead. She passed out straight away and we later found out she'd used a triple dose. Boomeron wanted to use some other drugs to revive her but we didn't think that would be a good idea. STD-01 started talking a load of technobabble with the guy, but I got that the blood writing had somehow infected his cyber-ware and STD-01 had apparently gotten rid of it. Just as I got back to the dead guy, he got up again! I tried to hold him down but it was pretty hard. He got most of the way back up so I tried to hit him with my scraper, but I was too slow. Gav hit him with his plasma gun and knocked him away from me a bit but he twisted out of the way. Then it hit me in the chest with its power fist. Fucking hurt, and made a massive dent in my armour, but this thing was really starting to piss me off. Gav shot it with the plasma gun again and we saw some weird web of energy lines that flashed up from the heat of it, like some kind of heat sink. Then I smashed it in the chest with my sewer scraper. It didn't cut through like flesh, but it did rupture his chest and a load of weird fluids and tubes spilled out. Boomeron hit him with his assault rifle again and the guy dropped to the floor again.

STD-01 said he was going to self destruct so I started running away, but then he said he had persuaded the guy's daemon not to regenerate. Bastard made me look like an idiot again. The biological parts of the dead cyborg melted away and there were just a bunch of random implants left lying around. I wanted to steal his power fists but apparently those things are custom built to fit into a bioframe or something, and that was one of the parts that melted. This didn't stop STD-01 from picking up anything that looked vaguely salvageable. Boomeron woke Chaz up with a space coke injection and she used one of the med-kits on me, which made me feel a fair bit better.

30/05/2011 Session

After we'd rested and done as much first aid on Boomeron as we could, we decided to head straight on up the access ladder to the ceiling scaffolds to try and get through to the residential level. It took a long time to get everyone up the ladder. Quold looked up some health and safety regulations and made a complicated rope harness, but didn't do it quite right so he bruised his ribs a lot because he kept falling off the ladder. Still, at least he had tied himself on so he didn't fall all the way down! STD-01's winch had broken earlier on so he had a lot of trouble getting up. Eventually we managed to get him up using Chaz's grapple gun and some ropes, but it was pretty hard work!

The room at the top was pretty much the same as the one at the bottom, with unpowered consoles and some cleaning supplies. We refilled Chaz's sprayer with some of my special blood-removing bleach mixture and I made some more food. Came out OK, but I thought I was getting better at cooking damnit! We managed to find some janitor's uniforms and I found one with a keycard in it. Boomeron found a porn calendar and Quold found a list of pending repair works. Quold managed to get a rough map of the work locations using his data slate. A lot of the repairs were in this one particularly large mansion.

After we'd rested we headed out onto the next level. It was mostly green parklands, trees and stuff, but not like the stuff we'd seen in the agricultural areas before. We headed to the nearest elevator shaft to see if we could get to the top more quickly. The elevators were dead, we checked the shafts and they were empty too. There were a couple more elevator shafts so we checked those, and the last one had a small red light on its control panel. I got STD-01 to try and access it, but he said it was only operable by some kind of ID implant. We were thinking about trying to find some bodies that might have the right chips in, when we spotted a floating version of the security bot that we took STD's tracks from. Chaz and I shouted to warn everyone, but of course that meant the bot spotted us.

The bot started heading towards us and its eyes were glowing red, which Quold says usually means they're in attack mode. We all ran back to the maintenance room, and everyone got there about the same time as Quold. We weren't sure if he'd been captured or killed by the bot but eventually we heard it shout at him to freeze just as he leapt through the door. Chaz put on one of the janitorial uniforms, and Quold said we should pretend we were from decontamination for Job number 129339. Chaz wanted to pass as she was in a janitorial uniform but I found it so I was gonna keep it, but then I figured she was the one in a janitor's uniform so I should give it to her. I tried to find it, but she somehow already had it.

The robot cut through the door and said it was going to sterilize us, but Q and C managed to stop it from doing that straight away. Eventually they blagged that we were a decontamination crew for this work order Q had found and it told us to go about our business. Q tried to get it to guard us, but it said it was currently under an insurgency protocol and had insurgents to contain. I told us we should stay away from a particular apartment block as that was where it was confining the insurgents. As it flew off I could see a weird shimmer in the air around it out of the corner of my eye. I had no idea what it was, but Boomeron seemed to think it was some kind of force field.

We decided to head to the mansion complex as the fancy guys who live round there would have pretty high clearance, and we might be able to operate the locked-out elevator. It was also on the opposite side from the building the robot told us to avoid, which seemed like a good plan. Quold checked the floor plan and it turned out to be the head of military logistics' mansion. We thought we should check on the situation outside whilst there were windows nearby. There were thousands of zombies swarming around the base of the tower and Boomeron and Chaz managed to spot quite a few special zombies.

We got to the front gate of the mansion and Quold told the house computer our work order numbers. It told us to go round to the tradesman's entrance and started listing faults. IT was particularly concerned about restoring its power feeds from the levels below, but Quold managed to convince it that wasn't our department, resulting in a much smaller list of faults to fix. We headed around the side of the house and it was pretty dark, but we managed to find the entrance. An android butler greeted us and started questioning us on how long it had taken us to arrive. Quold tried to convince it that it wasn't our fault, then tried to find it a complaint form but couldn't. It wasn't very impressed and I think it tore a few strips off him, though I couldn't really understand what it was saying. Eventually it stopped talking to him and started giving him the list of jobs and some map locations for within the house.

Around this time Q started talking about how the butler hadn't been corrupted by the red computer and was still functioning pretty much as normal. It was leading us to the first job, when suddenly it stopped and turned around and wandered off. Quold said to go after as it, something about a protocol being accepted, and then said he thought there might be an uncorrupted node nearby. The butler led us down to a basement level, below what had been the ground-level outside. Quold had been pretty smug about the whole thing, but then we got to the basement room and he fell to his knees screaming and bleeding from his eye sockets. Fortunately it stopped pretty quickly, and he seemed mostly OK. It seemed the AI got into his mind somehow as it knew a lot about us but fortunately it didn't seem to have been corrupted or to have taken exception to any of our previous decisions. It said it would let us have some use of its armouries and biogenic labs, and the robot butler brought us some really fancy food.

It said we should all go into the biogenic lab, and when I came out I felt awesome! Faster and stronger than ever before!

23/05/2011 Session

Made it to back room, got the cash but a dye bomb went off hitting Skrood and Gav, though most of us couldn't actually see the dye. Would have been difficult getting STD-01 through wreckage to go any of the other ways on up the tower so went through menagerie. Had to pay to get into the menagerie through some turn-styles, which was pretty expensive, but it was definitely worth it because I've never even heard of half the stuff in here and I love animals! You don't get many living things down in the sewers and the ones that are down there don't tend to be very friendly, so hopefully there'll be some nicer animals in this place.

We set off through the turn-styles and entered the menagerie. It was pretty empty looking aside from a load of massive glass tanks, which presumably had animals of some description in them. We managed to find a guidebook that told us what was meant to be in the enclosures. Before we'd walked very far some kind of laser show started inside a particularly large tank. We checked the map in the guidebook and found out that that particular enclosure was supposed to contain a Baruthian Pebble Monster. The entry for the pebble monster said it fed off a kind of mineral used in various kinds of power pack and that the light show was it being fed. Apparently was discovered on the mining colony Baruthia which had a particularly high concentration of the mineral. The planet was thought to be uninhabited at first, until someone noticed that the pebble storms seemed particularly concentrated around the bits of the mine where the mineral was brought to the surface. The feeding made a hell of a lot of noise and there were loads of stones whirling around the tank. None of us had ever seen anything like it before. After a while the tank started to crack and suddenly the pebbles were out of the tank and swirling all around us, which naturally rather hurt! It was around then that we started to notice that there were rocks rather larger than pebbles flying around as well. Everyone was taking a serious beating so we had to go into the nearest enclosure which turned out to contain Dark Slime.

Unsurprisingly, it was pretty dark in the Dark Slime enclosure. After we got some lights on we spotted a humanoid shape lying on the floor near the corner of the tank. We thought we'd better check if it was alive/dead/undead adn were about to do that when the pebble monster followed us into the tank. I guess someone left the door open. We took cover as best we could but the only real cover around was from being behind shields. Boomeron and I managed to get behind Gav's shield whilst Chaz and Quold took cover behind her shield, just leaving Skrood exposed since STD-01 has plenty of armour on his tank tracks anyway.

For some reason Boomeron chose this moment to throw a flashbang, which ignited the Yellow Mould (also known as fire mould). This caused an explosion which seemed to drive back the pebble monster, but also showered us all in flaming spores. I stuck to standard sewer technician fire procedure and dropped and rolled. It didn't work as well as usual since there wasn't any liquid sewage to smother the flames, so I didn't get them out straight away. Once I did, I saw that STD-01 emptied his waste tanks and lept out of his tracks to roll around in his own excreta, presumably to put the flames out rather than because he would enjoy doing so. He was mostly successful but couldn't quite get all of the flames out. Gav was mostly protecetd by his shield so he managed to put the burning bits of his trousers out pretty easily. Boomeron shoved Skrood into the waste pile, guess he'd realised Skrood's grenades might go off, and just about managed to put him out before any of the grenades cooked off. Chaz got something out of her salon bag which seemed to put the flames out pretty well. STD-01 eventually managed to roll around in his shit enough to put out the remaining flames and we all set about putting out his track unit so we could carry on.

The guide book had survived the flames, so we checked out what kinds of mould were nearby. The most common seemed to be White Fungal Mould which causes some kind of airborne infection, Red Mould which is cultivated for aesthetic purpoeses (and somebody once told me is edible), cultivated in ornamental gardens and reasonably harmless, Yellow which feeds on burnt matter and emits a cloud of flammable gas and green mould which has some kind of organic acid. We were pretty worried about the spore mould as B didn't have a sewer suit. Fortunately STD though he could rig up some kind of filter mask for him.

We moved on out of the yellow mould enclosure, and got into the green mould section. The green mould has a load of podules filled with some kind of organic acid sticking out of it on stalks. We threw in some bog roll and a few of the podules exploded. Chaz tried out some of the bleach I made before to clean up the blood writing on the acid puddles, and it seemed to neutralise it. There was a winding path through the green mould field so we started shooting out any pods that were overhanging the path and then clearing up the acid with the bleach. We made it about halfway down the patch when Chaz ran out of bleach. There was still a load of acid on the ground in front of us, so I scraped a path to the clear ground. We went on a little while until there were too many podules in the path to continue, when Boomeron volunteered to try sneaking past. He made it most of the way before he disturbed a pod and had to run for it. He got covered in acid as he started to run, trying to dodge the acid explosions and throw off his acid covered clothes as he went and setting off a load more podules. He ran all the way down the path and set off all the podules near the pathway. He just about made it to the end before he collapsed, seemingly without much skin left.

Chaz ran down the now cleared path to give him first aid, though she stopped the acid wearing through her boots first. He seemed to be stable, but didn't have much skin. We checked the control room at the end of the corridor, but there wasn't much there other than a few terminals and a hose that the personnel must have used to set off the acid mould podules. STD jacked in to the computer and managed to find some CCTV footage of what was up next. Seemed to be a bit more green, followed by the relatively harmless red mould and then more yellow mould. We could also see what was in the underground cavern; some yellow mould, some of the fungal white mould and what looked like an empty patch and some more red mould. We decided to rest in the maintenance area and patch up Boomeron as best we could.

I made some breakfast out of some of the red mould I'd found, barbecuing it on a fire I made. It came out kinda weird looking, mostly blackened and oozing some kind of black ichor. Everyone else refused to eat it, but I had some and it was kinda OK. Think I might not cook that stuff again.

STD found a maintenance tunnel that led back up to the main Menagerie building, so we decided to see if the rock beast was still around. We couldn't see anything moving so Chaz climbed up and opened the hatch to have a look. A few rocks fell off the hatch, but they didn't show any sign of attacking or even moving. She threw a condom out to see if anything happened but it landed next to a rock and nothing moves. She climbed out but th pebble beast still didn#t do anything. We all climbed out and the rocks mostly didn't move, except sometimes a few of them would move towrds me and Gav. Then I remembered that the moon where the pebble monster was found was being mined for the isotopes in energy weapon power packs and that was what the pebble monster ate. We carried on, holding our energy weapons above our heads to keep them as far from the rocks as possible.

STD crushed some of the rocks under his tracks. I learned some Geography stuff from that learning chair before so I had a look. It seemed to be some kind of slightly brittle granite with veins of quartzy crystals running through it. I scraped up some of the quartz stuff on my sewer scraper to have a look, but I'd forgotten about the power packs and the crystally stuff flew onto it and stuck there. We carried on towards the exit, when some of the bigger boulders over that way started moving towards us.

Figured out energy packs, shielded with hull armour jo's shield and put the power packs in STD's sewage tank, armoued with shield and some shotguns. Worked, a few rocks moved but not much. Made it through to next area. B put on Chaz's schoolgirl outfit as his armour was trashed by the acid. Said we'd know if he was excited, Skrood looked uncomfortable.

Next area was a large mould cavern, mostly red mould with pretty fronds and a concrete border with sprinkler nozzles. Mould seemed to die out around the edge of sprinkler range. Chaz wanted to get it out to see if it was some kind of fungicide. We had a look for some controls and STD even scanned, but there were no electrical signals about CMOS battery level. Chaz chucked a condom out into the field of moss and noticed it took a very odd path through the clear area. She threw another one to check and it was definitely weird, so I threw in a bog roll. It unfurled as it went and drape over what seemed to be more tentacles, though we couldn't really see them. Once we looked a lot harder we could kinda see something, but it was really hard, like it was on a wavelength of light we couldn't see. That usually means it's Dark, so not something we shhould fuck with as light beings.

STD suggested using the power from the laser pack to try activating the sprinklers. We thought about it but it might take a long time for the fungicide to have effect. STD then suggested Skrood made a shaped charge to blast a path through the invisible mould. They rigged some kind of hook to the end of Boomeron's microphone boom to lay some charges with. While they were doing that we spotted some half dissolved corpses in the distant fronds. They set off the charge and it blew a path through. We could see the tentacles thrashing for a while but then they settled down and were mostly invisible again. We made it to the door without getting got.

It was another maintenance room so we decided to see if there was anything useful to find. Rested for a while, I cooked, lectures on explosive weapons, hide/sneak, leadership. STD powered up a terminal with the laser power pack. Took him ages to get anything as it was in admin lockdown but eventually he got in. All systems had unpowered links to external systems. Was a 3d schematic showing a tower with a ladder, scaffold structure at the top, maybe exits leading to the residential section.
